Branding the Future of Shopify for Enterprise

I was hired as the first designer for the Shopify Enterprise marketing design team. Working in close collaboration with an outside agency, we developed the brand architecture, tone of voice, and messaging framework from the ground up. Our goal was to create a visual identity that stayed true to Shopify’s recognizable green branding while also appealing to a new audience of enterprise customers. Alongside a team of talented designers, I contributed to the development of several initial concepts, each carefully crafted to speak to this evolving audience.

Role: Senior Marketing Designer

As part of the creative process, we explored two distinct directions, experimenting with different visual treatments. These approaches were designed to not only highlight Shopify’s new enterprise offerings but also reflect the expanding landscape of ecommerce for larger businesses. The challenge was to find the right balance between Shopify's core identity and the sophistication expected by enterprise clients, ensuring the brand felt both familiar and elevated.

Once the final direction was chosen, we dove into building out the brand toolkit, ensuring it could seamlessly extend across digital platforms, advertisements, campaigns, and even large-scale print and event materials. This new brand had to be versatile enough to thrive in dynamic digital spaces, while also standing out at high-profile global summits and events, reinforcing Shopify's leadership in the enterprise ecommerce space.

Working on Shopify for Enterprise was an incredible experience, especially partnering with our agency collaborators to develop a brand that truly resonated with its audience. The result was a dynamic and impactful brand that not only aligned with Shopify’s core values but also opened up new opportunities for enterprise growth.
